Tauge (Bean Sprouts) Chicken Rice - Ipoh

Simple food combination, simplicious of Ipoh's local dishes. Do not underestimate this combination of food, it does taste nicer than the ordinary chicken rice that we tasted at most places. It usually comes with 3 plates, 1 plate of chicken, 1 plate of steamed bean sprouts and 1 plate of rice, or a bowl of kueh tiaw soup.

There is nothing special about the steamed bean sprouts, may be it was an side dishes to refreshing our tougue only. But the chicken meat does taste very nice and smooth, and the with the light taste kueh tiaw soup, it tastes even nicer. So don't forget to try it when got chance.

O-Jien - Penang

This is Penang style O-Jien. I don't have much comment about it, can say no bad only. But I still prefer the O-Jien that I can find in Kuching.

Chu Chong Fan - Penang

This kind of Chu Chong Fan is purely springrolls made of flours, topped with sesame, serves with soya sauce and some sambal. It's taste different compare to those Chu Chong Fan that rolled with meat or prawn inside the spring roll, this one is purely springrolls made of flours.

It tastes quite nice and it's more chewy than those Hong Kong type of Chu Chong Fan i tasted before.

Char Kueh Tiaw (fried kueh tiaw) - Penang

This is Penang's Char Kueh Tiaw, the most famous dishes of Penang. Actually I felt the it's nothting special of it compare with the fried kueh tiaw of my hometown. The different of Penang's Char Kueh Tiaw is that it was cooked with Charcoal, but it was also expensive and small portion.

Curry Mee (noodle) - Penang

This is Penang's curry mee, it tastes like Kuching's laksa but it has different ingredients compare with Kuching's laksa. I like this dishes, but most people might don't like the ingredient as it consisting pig organs and pig's blood as well. It has clams, squids, pig organs and blood, long bean and etc ingredients.

The noodles are also mixed from different types of noodles, but if you don't like mixing of noodle types, you can always select particular noodles only. It also serves with a scoop of spicy spices which customer can mix themselves how spicy they wants witht the curry mee.

Asam Laksa - Penang

Before stir the ingredients

After stirred the ingredients

This is how famous Penang' asam laksa looks like. It's cook using "Lou Shu Fan", mixed with cucumber, meat floss and etc spices. Not a bad dishes but it might not suit most people's taste.

It tastes sour and spicy, tastes not bad but it made me feel a bit weird about the mixture. I don't think those who like sour or spicy food will definitely like the taste. But if go Penang, it's a must try dishes.
