Dragon-i restaurant

Dragon-i restaurant is an international chinese restaurant, which they also have a lot of branches in Malaysia. Last month during my trip to Penang, I have an dinner at their Penang's branch with my friends, and personally I like their chinese food alot.

Flower tea that will bloom slowly,

Shang Hai Xiao Long Bao, inside the bun, there are soup inside. Once you bite, the soup will spread into your mouth, extremely nice during it's warm,

Vegetarian noodles soup, simple but nice,

Druken Chicken, it's a cold dishes which made me felt that it was just taken out from the fridge, extremely nice~

For more menu, you can visit their official website and have a look.

Dim Sum - Ipoh, Perak

Ipoh was the main city of Peral state and it's famous as place of tourism in Malaysia. Dim sum was a quite very famous food in Ipoh, especially as their breakfast. Their have varieties of dim sum to choose, until sometimes you also don't know which tray of dim sum you want to eat.

Dim sum was originated from China actually, but since there are a lot of chinese in Malaysia, dim sum somehow also becomes one of the common dishes for Malaysian. Give it a try at Ipoh if you like to eat dim sum, overall the price is considerable cheap compare to the dim sum we eat at other city.

Tauge (Bean Sprouts) Chicken Rice - Ipoh

Simple food combination, simplicious of Ipoh's local dishes. Do not underestimate this combination of food, it does taste nicer than the ordinary chicken rice that we tasted at most places. It usually comes with 3 plates, 1 plate of chicken, 1 plate of steamed bean sprouts and 1 plate of rice, or a bowl of kueh tiaw soup.

There is nothing special about the steamed bean sprouts, may be it was an side dishes to refreshing our tougue only. But the chicken meat does taste very nice and smooth, and the with the light taste kueh tiaw soup, it tastes even nicer. So don't forget to try it when got chance.

O-Jien - Penang

This is Penang style O-Jien. I don't have much comment about it, can say no bad only. But I still prefer the O-Jien that I can find in Kuching.

Chu Chong Fan - Penang

This kind of Chu Chong Fan is purely springrolls made of flours, topped with sesame, serves with soya sauce and some sambal. It's taste different compare to those Chu Chong Fan that rolled with meat or prawn inside the spring roll, this one is purely springrolls made of flours.

It tastes quite nice and it's more chewy than those Hong Kong type of Chu Chong Fan i tasted before.

Char Kueh Tiaw (fried kueh tiaw) - Penang

This is Penang's Char Kueh Tiaw, the most famous dishes of Penang. Actually I felt the it's nothting special of it compare with the fried kueh tiaw of my hometown. The different of Penang's Char Kueh Tiaw is that it was cooked with Charcoal, but it was also expensive and small portion.

Curry Mee (noodle) - Penang

This is Penang's curry mee, it tastes like Kuching's laksa but it has different ingredients compare with Kuching's laksa. I like this dishes, but most people might don't like the ingredient as it consisting pig organs and pig's blood as well. It has clams, squids, pig organs and blood, long bean and etc ingredients.

The noodles are also mixed from different types of noodles, but if you don't like mixing of noodle types, you can always select particular noodles only. It also serves with a scoop of spicy spices which customer can mix themselves how spicy they wants witht the curry mee.

Asam Laksa - Penang

Before stir the ingredients

After stirred the ingredients

This is how famous Penang' asam laksa looks like. It's cook using "Lou Shu Fan", mixed with cucumber, meat floss and etc spices. Not a bad dishes but it might not suit most people's taste.

It tastes sour and spicy, tastes not bad but it made me feel a bit weird about the mixture. I don't think those who like sour or spicy food will definitely like the taste. But if go Penang, it's a must try dishes.

Cendol - Penang

This is called "Cendol", it's a Malaysia local ais dishes. It's consists of red bean and the green colours "Cendol", mixed with sweetening milk and ais. For Penang's cendol, I feel that it's a bit different from the cendol i tasted in different city.

Penang's cendol used coconut milk instead of sweetening milk and they did put some salt inside of it, making it tastes sweetness and a bit salty. Personally I still prefer Kuching's cendol as they used sweetening milk instead of coconut milk, because I don't like my ais syrup tastes a bit salty.

Hokkien Mee (noodles) - Penang

This is one of the recommended food of Penang, it's called Hokkien Mee. Personally I like this noodles' soup a lot, it's spicy and taste very nice as it mixed some spicy sambal inside the soup. The noodles are mixed of different type of noodles, and it's non-halal food as it serves with pork.

Ais Kacang - Penang

This is Penang Ais Kacang, taste very nice and full of ingredients. It has red beans, red bean paste, sweet corn, jelly, sea coconut and etc. On top of those ice mixture, a scoop of ais-cream was topped as topping. Guess how much was it, it's only RM1.50. Nice~

Double Wood House

This cafe is located at Padungan, Kuching, where last time it was known as "wishing well" with different design. There is nothing much special about this cafe actually, but the environment is very quiet and comfortable if you are gathering together with your friends.

They have a lot of choices of food, and all the foods' price is quite cheap compare to most cafe available.

Satay Celup - Malacca Local

I have been to Malacca last year in June, and i have tried some delicious local food at there. One of the famous food introduced by my friend who bringing me to tour around was "satay celup", which mean dipping sate.

Why they call it "satay celup"? Because the sate is not Barbeque as usual, but they are dipped into a pot of boiling sauce and cook it. It is actually not a very special to a lot of people, but it is one of the famous local food around.

When a group of people go for "satay celup", they will be given one pot of sauce, and they can go pick their favour sate at the fridge. When you have chance, try it~

Basaga - Holiday Residences

Basaga is set amongst a few acres of luscious tropical gardens which offer you a peaceful and comfortable environment. They provide rooms at reasonable rates with perfect comfortable modern amenities.

The sound of cascading water from the tiled wall, flows directly into our landscaped salt-water pool, surrounded by tall shady trees, creates a nice and relaxing ambience or find yourself taking a quick and inviting dip in the pool to cool off from the heat of the day.

But what i like and introduce to everyone here is the restaurant belongs to them. They restaurant are mostly open-air de, but romantically designed. They do not have much choices of food, but their food quite nice. Plus the beautiful night time environment, it is a good place to go for dinner with you loved one.

Strawberries dishes on Cameron Highland

Cameron Highland is located in Pahang, Malaysia, with its cold and fresh environment, it is very suitable to grow vegetables and fruits. Besides that, it is a nice place for people who wanna escape the pressure of city’s life, temporarily stay away from the Internet and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The main attraction of Cameron Highland is the agriculture activities, especially the strawberry that growth at there. There are few attraction dishes with the strawberry on Cameron Highlands, such as strawberry fried rice and strawberry buns.

Last trip of mine to Cameron Highlands, I have tasted a few dishes with strawberry served, such as strawberry fried rice, fresh strawberry milkshake, strawberry buns and etc. Honestly, the strawberry fried rice does taste nice and fresh. There also a strawberry desserts cafe that called “Strawberry Moment”, serving a lot types of special strawberry dishes. The food guide is provided to tourists on their own official website, “Cameron Highlands Malaysia” as well.

Secret Sanctuary Boutique Cottage

Last night went to a quite famous boutique cottage together with my girlfriend, and have our dinner there. Wow, all we can say is that the design very luxury and awesome. They actually put a notice saying that no photos taking is allowed, however when i ask the staff, they say okay to take photos. So i taken some photos to share with everyone.

The design actually very close to mother nature concept, just that they have a lot of mixing design. Jungle style, japanese design, local Malay design, lounge and poolside concept all mixed up together. Their menu actually have limited of choices, but then i found out that actually they have a lot of choices which is not inside the menu list. I tried their BBQ chicken chop which is in the menu list, and it's not bad at all for their own recipe.
They actually have various spa facilities and rooms for booking too, and it can be a good place for relax. For more info, you can visit their own website at http://www.thesecretsanctuary.com/. It's located at Stutong, near Kuching Area, not so easy to spot it out for first timer.

Nadeja Cafe

During my graduation’s celebration trip, I have been travelling around Malaysia together with my coursemates. One the our trip’s stop point is Malacca, Malaysia. Malacca is one of the state of Malaysia and it was one of the famous tourism’s places due to its well known history.

However during my trip, I was not only got the chance to explore the famous A’Farmosa but also I have tasted the nicest cake i ever ate in my life. It was a type of cheesecake, but it does not look like cheese cake. The cake was so smooth like it will melt once my tongue touched it. The tastiness of the cake was not because of the ingredients of the cake, but the mixture of ingredients and skills of the cake baker. The cake consists of layers of thin cheesecake layers and fresh cream. The layers of the cheesecake were as thin as cardboard papers. With the combination of the fresh cream, the tastiness of the cake was totally been brought to our tongue. There are different tastes of cheesecake available, but I think the original taste cheesecake still the best.

With a glass of sour drink, such as orange juice, the cake tastes even better.
The shop that sell the cake was known as Nadeja cafe and the cake was listed as Malaysia Most wanted food. The sad thing about this cake is that it is only available in Nadeja cafe in Malacca. Next time, if I ever got a chance to go to Malacca

Rock Road Seafood

In Kuching, the main city of Sarawak, Malaysia located a very nice seafood restaurant. As long people mention about nice restaurant with fresh seafood, it sure will be the one that appear in people mind. The restaurant was known as "Rock Road Seafood" and it serves the most expensive seafood dishes in Kuching, but the seafood dishes are definitely nice and worth the price.

Rock Road Seafood restaurant always fully occupied by customers, and booking must be made earlier if we want to go there for seafood. They provide a high class of services and they have a lot aquariums that keeping the seafood alive. Customer can pick the seafood that have inside the aquarium themselves, such as prawn, lobsters, crabs and etc.

Among the famous dishes are the curry prawn with bread, cheese baked prawn, lobster salad and the crab pies. Besides that, Road Rock Seafood restaurant also got serve some side dishes, one of the famous side dishes is the BBQ birds. It is truly a enjoyment of having seafood at there.

The Liquid Lounge

There is a lounge that stated besides with the swimming pool in kuching, it is called "The Liquid". It is located at the recently built Pullman hotel. Surrounding the swimming pool, with light projected out from the pool, another nice feeling can be sensed.

The Liquid is a quite nice venue to have some beer or to organize a hot party. It can be rented for event and they also have DJ entertaining the crowd every weekend. When the venue is crowded, it is quite hot as they do not have air conditioning facility besides the swimming pool. But it is worth to experience such lounge outing as we can even lay on the relaxing chair of the swimming to pool, drink beer and look at the star.

Momoyama - Japanese Cuisine

In Kuching, the main city of Sarawak, Malaysia, there are actually a lot of Japanese restaurants available. One of the famous one is the Momoyama Japanese Restaurant that located in Kuching town. It has a business history that more than 10 years already.

Last weekend, I have a chance to go there dinner with my friends. Although I was borned and grown up in Kuching, but it was my first time been there. The environment was good and the food does taste nice and fresh. Compare to other Japanese restaurant that available, it has closed rooms that customer can use, but with extra charges.
